How to Download IOS 5 & How to Solve it's Potential Problems
10To download the IOS 5 beta from the Apple Developer Website you need to be or associated with a paid and registered developer who paid $99 to get said account.
To install the Beta:
1. Download iTunes 10.5 beta and IOS 5 beta from Dev Center
2. Plug iDevice into iTunes
3. 'Option' + Restore
4. Select the IOS 5 IPSW Firmware that you just downloaded
5. iDevice will begin its Restore
If you tried to upgrade illegally without being having your iDevice registered at the Dev Center and your iDevice is stuck on the page saying "you are not a registered Device", follow these steps on how to get your iDevice back to Normal.
How to Get iDevice back to normal:
1. Download the latest Firmware from Felixburns (http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/)
2. Plug iDevice into iTunes
3. Put iDevice into DFU mode (shown in video)
4. 'Option' + Restore
5. Select download IPSW Firmware
6. iDevice will begin to restore back to factory settings
Notes: upgrading can be risky. If you are not up the challenge, wait till this fall for the consumer release of IOS 5 and upgrade then.
