Hi. I'm Max Dalton, and in this video I'm going to talk through how to embed a YouTube video in Microsoft OneNote.

Microsoft OneNote makes it easy to store more than text on a OneNote page. If there's a YouTube video that's critical to a note that you're creating, you can embed that video directly into a specific location on your OneNote page. All you need to do is paste the URL at the location where you want to insert the video, and after a few seconds, the YouTube video title and a player with that specific video appear on your OneNote page. This video walks you through how to embed a YouTube video in both the Microsoft OneNote desktop and mobile apps.

And now, the steps to embed a YouTube video in the Microsoft OneNote desktop app.

Step 1. Open YouTube in a Web browser, and then navigate to the video you want to embed in your OneNote file.

Step 2. Copy the URL associated with the YouTube video you want to embed. You can do this by copying the URL for the video directly out of the Web browser's address bar.

Step 3. Launch Microsoft OneNote, and then navigate to the page within the notebook section where you want to embed the video.

Step 4. Click to place your cursor at the location on the OneNote page where you want to embed the video.

Step 5. Right-click on that location to open a context menu, and then click "Paste." The URL associated with the YouTube video you copied will briefly appear, before it automatically changes to be the title of the YouTube video. Additionally, the YouTube video itself will appear in a player directly beneath the title.

Step 6. Press the "Play" button in the center of the video player to automatically play the video.

And now, the steps to embed a YouTube video in the Microsoft OneNote mobile app.

Step 1. Open YouTube mobile app, and then navigate to the video you want to embed in your OneNote file.

Step 2. Copy the URL associated with the YouTube video you want to embed. You can do this by tapping the "Share" button in the upper left corner of the video, and then choosing "Copy Link" in the menu that flys up from the bottom of the screen.

Step 3. Launch the Microsoft OneNote mobile app, and then navigate to the page within the notebook section where you want to embed the video.

Step 4. Tap to place your cursor at the location on the OneNote page where you want to embed the video.

Step 5. Hold your finger against the location on the screen where you want to embed the video for one second, and then pull your finger off of the screen. A context menu appears at the location where your finger was.

Step 6. Select "Paste." The URL associated with the YouTube video you copied will briefly appear, before it automatically changes to be the title of the YouTube video. Additionally, the YouTube video itself will appear in a player directly beneath the title.

Step 7. Press the "Play" button in the center of the video player to automatically play the video.
