Steps:

- In order to enable 5G on your iPhone you need to make sure that your carrier supports 5G and you have an active 5G plan.

- Open up the settings app.

- Select ‘Mobile Data’, depending what country you’re in it might be called ‘Cellular’.

- Inside mobile data, select ‘Mobile Data Options’ or ‘Cellular Data Options’

- Now tap ‘Voice & Data’.

- Here you have a few different options, by default it will be set to 5G Auto, which means that it will use 5G only when it will not significantly reduce your iPhones battery life.

- The ‘5G On’ option will use 5G whenever it is available even when it will reduce your battery life.

- The third option is 4G or LTE, this option will turn off 5G altogether and only use 4G LTE.

- Personally I would leave it on 5G Auto, so it will use 5G when it's available, unless it will significantly reduce your battery life.

- Now if you go back to ‘Mobile Data Options’ and tap on ‘Data Mode’ you have the option to ‘Allow more data on 5G’ which means with this setting enabled you will have higher quality video and facetime when you are using 5G. This option will use a lot of cellular data.

- If you are not too concerned with the quality of your video and facetime and want to save some data, you should select the ‘Standard’ option. This will still allow automatic updates but will limit facetime and video quality.

- ‘Low Data Mode’ is the option to use if you don't want to use much data. It will prevent automatic updates and background tasks.
