Microsoft defines Tamper Protection as a feature that prevents harmful apps from altering critical Windows Defender settings, such as real-time and cloud protection. It ensures malicious software can’t disable these features, while still allowing you to manage settings via Windows Security. However, it only applies to Windows Security and won't affect third-party antivirus settings, though many of these programs have similar protections.
Another essential security feature, Ransomware Protection, is disabled by default, despite the serious threat posed by ransomware.
