Episode 30: How to Fix a Broken Lid Sensor on a Dreamcast and PS2 Slim
Happy 2016 everyone! This first episode of RETRO Buyer's Guide for the new year is a tutorial on how to fix a broken lid sensor in a Sega Dreamcast or Playstation 2 Slim. If your old console refuses to spin the disc after you put it in, it could be your lid sensor is broken. The lid sensor is a plastic piece that presses down on the motherboard to let the console know when the door is open or closed. Using a small square of aluminum foil, you can bypass the piece of plastic and get your Dreamcast or PS2 Slim back to working order.
