This video will show you how to fix the "A referral was returned from the server" error while trying to launch an application or a program without administrative privileges in Windows 10/8/7.
1. Using Registry Setting
- Press Windows Key + R then type regedit. click OK
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SOFTWARE - Microsoft - Windows - CurrentVersion - Policies - System
- Find ValidateAdminCodeSignatures and EnableUIADesktopToggle and change their Value data as 0.
2. Using Group Policy
- Press Windows Key + R then type gpedit.msc. Click OK.
- Go to Computer Configuration - Windows Settings - Security Settings - Local Policies - Security Options
- Locate the "User Account Control: Only elevate executables that are signed and validated" policy, then double-click it. Change the security setting to Disabled.
3. Restart your computer.
