We also tried fixing a scratched cd with one of the $35 scratch repair machines and it did nothing. Comparatively the JFJ Easy Pro is professional grade (not top of the line cd repair) but definitely worth it if you have more than a handful of cds, DVDs or scratched video games that need to be repaired.
