In this tutorial, I'll show you how to fix the COM Surrogate high CPU or disk usage problem in Windows. This issue is commonly caused by Windows processes, and I'll guide you through steps to resolve it and improve system performance.

Commands Used:
Sfc /scannow
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Before we start fixing issues with COM Surrogate, make sure that your Windows 11 is up to date, and that you have all updates installed because quite often issues with Windows 10 components are fixed with Windows Update.

Component Object Model or COM is a medium to enable communication between 2 processes or apps. It allows developers to create objects, a.k.a. COM objects (handles processing images, videos, and other files to generate the thumbnails) that enable users to plug into other applications and extend them. However, there’s one problem associated with it. When a COM object crashes it also causes the host process to crash. Sometimes crashing of one COM object may cause the entire Windows process to crash.
