Whenever i try try create a desktop shortcut this happens, The shortcut does work but it's blank and does not display any actual icons for the games and instead it gives the name of the game and a .url extension at the end of the name of the file so i decided to make this quick fast simple tutorial to help others fix it and have the beautiful shortcuts back and working as they are supposed to be.

The solution:
Go to the Windows Settings page "Choose default applications by file type"
Find the ".URL" entry
Set it to use "Internet Browser"
