Anisotropic filtering (X16) works well with texture filtering quality, which improves distant objects in games. It enhances the visual appeal of textures when viewed at a high angle. Anisotropic filtering may offer visual gains with only a minor performance cost, depending on your PC and the game.

As you look farther away, the surfaces become blurrier. The effect is more pronounced when the in-game camera is in motion. Then turn anisotropic filtering on, and the far-off surfaces become much more detailed and load faster.
