Ark: Survival Evolved is an action-adventure survival game set in an open world environment with a dynamic day-night cycle and played either from a third-person or first-person perspective. To survive, players must establish a base, with a fire and weapons; additional activities, such as taming and feeding dinosaurs, require more resources.Â
The game is played from either a third-person or first-person perspective and its open world is navigated on foot or by riding a prehistoric animal. Players can use firearms and improvised weapons to defend against hostile humans and creatures, with the ability to build bases as defense on the ground and on some creatures. The game has both single-player and multiplayer options. Multiplayer allows the option to form tribes of members in a server. The max number of tribe mates varies from each server. In this mode all tamed dinosaurs and building structures are usually shared between the members. There is a PVE mode where players cannot fight each other.
Ark Genesis:
- Genesis is the first Expansion Pack to:
- Have a massive focus on water.
- Have a Underwater Boss.
- Have missions.
- To be split into 2 parts.
- To introduce "pets" with HLNA.
- Lore wise Genesis will also include a new category of Bosses similarly to how the Titans are a different category of Bosses as these bosses do not share the same function as the Bosses used on the Arks, serving different fuctions as opposed to the Guardians and Overseers who are meant to test the survivors to see if they are strong enough to help reclaim the Earth from the Titans and are used within the Arks whereas the new category of bosses are used within the Genesis Simulation.
- Leading up to the release of Genesis Part 1, each month will feature a new Genesis Chronicles which introduces new Skins and Explorer Notes revealing more about Genesis.
- Genesis Part 1 is the third Expansion Pack to have new variants of existing Creatures, the first being Aberration with  Aberrant Creatures, and the second being the  Corrupted Creatures in Extinction.
- The Genesis Chronicles reveals that the Genesis simulation is connected to a place known as Arat Prime.
- During the countdown reveal of Genesis, PlayStation accidentally allowed users to view the store page for it early and leaked the reveal a day ahead of schedule. Genesis's countdown page was humorously updated to poke fun at this by adding decodable glyphs that translated to "Unexpected PSN Data Detected".
