How to get Better Treatment from Restaurants
Fun story about a time when my brother AJ, and my mother went out to dinner, and what it means for businesses.
I have a good story to tell you about business and marketing in the time we live in. So my mom and brother had 8 o'clock dinner reservations at this Mexican restaurant. They arrived at the restaurant on time and the hostess told my brother it was going to be another 40 minutes. My brother had a very tight schedule since he and I had a meeting we had to attend. So my brother pulls out his phone to text me that he was going to be late. Next thing you know the hostess reached out, ran to the back to grab the owner...AJ and mom were sitting down in under two minutes. The hostess was afraid of a negative customer review going up on Yelp because people are now using Yelp or Foursquare to rate and score restaurants and businesses with reviews and just one negative review can be bad for business. Since the internet is at the palm of our hands, it is even more vital to ensure customer satisfaction and (hopefully) a positive customer review. One customer review can ultimately affect purchasing behavior, and this is just one small real life example how customer reviews and the internet have changed business and customer relationships.
