About this video: This video shows you 6 incredible tips on how to grow a following on Instagram in 2018. Things have changed over the years, and gone are the days of being able to throw a few hashtags on consistent posts and gain 1,000 or more followers in a week. Growth on Instagram takes time, and the tips in this video will show you how to consistently and reliably grow your Instagram account over time.
I'm not promising that you'll get 100,000 followers in a month. What I am saying is that you can get 250,000 followers in a year if you put in consistent work everyday overtime into growing your Instagram account. Nothing comes easy including getting followers on Instagram, but if you use these methods you will gain legitimate followers that want to engage with you and who will be interested in your content.
The first method I recommend for growing on Instagram is effectively using hashtags. It's not as easy as it once was. You now need to be constantly testing new hashtags, and you must always be on the lookout for banned hashtags that will prevent your post from showing up at all. The best way to find hashtags is by comparing and creating a list from competitor's posts.
Next, you'll want to look at your posting schedule. The general rule of thumb on Instagram is no more than 6 scattered post in a day. Any more than that, and it will look like you are spamming. You also want to make sure you are doing at least one repost a day in order to connect with other influencers on Instagram and test hashtags from these users.
Additionally, you want to make sure you are engaging with as many people as possible. I recommend liking at least 50 posts per day and commenting on at least 25 posts per day. I'm not talking emoji comments either. I'm talking well thought out, real comments about the post you are commenting on. Sure, this takes time, but I promise that it makes a huge impact.
Speaking of engagement, another good way to keep your followers engaged is through Instagram stories. Stories make sure that you are top of mind for your followers, so it is important to make sure you post them consistently throughout the day. We currently do at least 7 story posts at random times throughout the day.
