How to Highlight Text in PDF Documents in Microsoft Edge Browser [Tutorial]
While Microsoft Edge has supported PDF documents for a long time, up until now, it only included a limited number of features that led users to choose alternative applications to cover all the basic functionalities to work with this type of file format.
Besides many good features, Microsoft Edge is also a handy PDF reader. Apart from viewing a PDF file, it provides some good tools to use while reading a PDF document. You can draw on PDF with 30 different colors in freehand mode, use an eraser to remove what you drew, rotate PDF, zoom in and out, etc. Among all such options, one unique feature that you won’t find in other popular browsers like Firefox, Google Chrome, etc., is you can highlight text in PDF and save highlighted PDF in Microsoft Edge.
Microsoft Edge is getting new features with every update of Windows 10. With Creators Update, it came with set tabs aside, preview tabs, and other features. Now with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, few more interesting features have been added in it, and highlighting a PDF file in Microsoft Edge is one of those features.
Now Microsoft Edge natively supports PDF highlighter and four different colors are provided to highlight text content of a PDF file. You can use Yellow, Light Blue, Pink, and Green colors to highlight text content of your PDF file. After highlighting, you can save PDF file with all your highlights or I say highlighted text.
All you have to do is select some text in a PDF (after opening it in Microsoft Edge) and use right click menu to access highlighter feature of Edge browser. A highlighted text can also be unhighlighted anytime. So if some text is highlighted accidentally, then you always have option to undo it.
You can use four colors to highlight PDF text (including hyperlinks). The available colors are Pink, Light Blue, Green, and Yellow. When you are done with highlighting PDF document, you can save a separate copy of that PDF with all the highlighted text.
