Ever been bombarded with spam or inappropriate comments on your YouTube videos? It's not only annoying for you, but it can prevent some people from engaging with a video, or worse it could cause some people to not subscribe to your channel at all. Thankfully, YouTube makes it easy to take back control of your YouTube comments section by holding all comments on your YouTube channel videos so you can review them and easily filter out the spam or inappropriate comments before anyone can see them.
Now let's walk through the steps to hold all comments on your YouTube channel for review.
Step 1. Open a web browser, navigate to Studio.YouTube.com, and then log into the Google account associated with your YouTube account. You'll land on your YouTube Studio home page.
Step 2. Click "Settings" in the menu on the left side of the screen. A Settings dialog box pops up.
Step 3. Click "Community" in the menu on the left side of the screen. Options associated with your YouTube community settings are shown on the right side of the screen.
Step 4. Click to select "Defaults." You'll see comments controls.
Step 5. Find the Comments On Your YouTube Channel section, and then click to fill in the radio selector next to "Hold All Comments for Review." Going forward, you'll need to review and approve all of your YouTube channel comments through the Comments tab before they are displayed on your videos.
