This guide will show you how to take a modchip and install it into an original PlayStation console! The benefit of this being now if you want to play an import or backup game all you have to do is pop it into your PS1, turn it on, and go. No need to do a disc swap or use any type of Parallel I/O cartridge! The chip we are using here is an MM3, otherwise known as a MultiMode 3. There are several other chips out there, however this guide will specifically be covering the MM3 as it is the chip I have had the most experience with.
