In this video cover the basics for getting start in Valheim, which includes killing the first boss, Eikthyr, on your first attempt! It took me about 1 hour and 5 minutes to go from start of new character to a dead Eikthyr. You can do the same with this basic list of tasks:

1) collect wood, rock, flint, berries and mushrooms
2) make hammer and axe
3) make crafting table
4) make flint axe
5) collect 8 leather scraps from Boars
6) cook meat
7) craft bow and 100 arrows at crafting table
8) collect 2 deer trophies from Deer
9) create a structure for restricting Eikthyr movement
10) eat 3 different food items
11) summon Eikthyr
