This is a tutorial on making a Minecraft Server on a Mac computer. This is not a Bukkit Server Tutorial, This is for a Vanilla Server with no plugins or mods. Please watch the whole video so you don't miss any of the steps.
When you try and connect to your server using your public IP and port number you'll have to port forward your router before you can connect, sorry in the video I already had my router forwarded that's why it worked for me.
When you double click your start.command file only one window will open not two like in the video, the minecraft server window has been disabled by the new minecraft server code that you pasted into your start.command file.
Once you have made your server and you start it, you'll need to open the file eula.txt in your server folder and set the eula=true and save it before you can play the server, Here's my video on how to do that http://youtu.be/FHwBjKrLh-k
