There have been a lot of discussions recently about how a Superman game could be designed around a character whose defining feature is his invincibility. I have had an idea for how to approach this for nearly a decade now and I figured this is as good a time as any to share my thoughts.

I think this is the best way to approach it from a game design perspective. I want to be clear that I'm not extremely well versed on the character, this isn't coming from the perspective of a Superman “fan” it's coming from purely a design perspective. I'm sure some people will have a problem with that but it's also important to take bias out of design. He can't be as powerful as he is in the comics and it still be a fun game, and I think this is the best way to balance him.
