How to make an easy bread pudding. Classic bread pudding recipe!
CLASSIC BREAD PUDDING recipe which is EASY and TASTY! :)
Mary's grandmother (we think) handed this recipe down to Mary's mom, who eventually passed it on to her. It's a GREAT recipe, classic, easy to make, and VERY (see: too) tasty!
You will notice that I adjust the recipe BELOW based on the amount of bread I'm using. For this video, I used just over 8 cups of Homemade Challah Bread. The recipe below, is only 1 cup of bread. In short, I multiplied the recipe x8 for the video.
Mom’s Bread Pudding (small version)
1C Bread Cubes and Crumbs
1 tbsp Melted Butter
1 Egg (Beaten)
1/4 C Sugar (Brown if desired)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1 C Scalded Milk (I used 8 cups of milk)
1/2 C Raisins (any dried fruit)
Combine Sugar, Salt, Vanilla, Butter, Cinnamon, and Eggs. Add scalded milk stirring constantly. Add Bread and fruit. Mix thoroughly. Let stand 1/2 hour or until bread had become saturated. Pour into well buttered glass dish. Set in pan of water (Optional) Bake for 45 min at 350 degrees, or until knife comes out CLEAN. Cool. Serve with cream. ENJOY!
