Hello muggles! Today, we're going to teach you how to make Butterbeer from Harry Potter and Universal Studios at home! This is such an easy recipe and only requires a handful of ingredients. We found this great copycat recipe thanks to Chip and Co. Honestly, this tastes VERY close to the real Butterbeer that you'll find in the theme parks, so if you're looking to satisfy a craving while home, here you go!
This is what you'll need:
1/3 cup butterscotch syrup
1-liter vanilla cream soda, chilled
1 cup heavy cream
¼ tsp caramel extract
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
¼ cup powdered sugar
Just an FYI, we used caramel syrup instead of butterscotch and didn't use the caramel extract and this still tasted SO GOOD! These two aren't the easiest to find (Amazon is your best bet), so if you happen to find caramel syrup like we did in the stores, feel free to use that instead!
Instructions:
1. Combine cream soda with caramel extract and butterscotch syrup in bowl. Mix well with spoon. Set aside.
2. In the mixer, with whisk attachment, whip the heavy cream until it begins to form peaks.
3. Gently fold in the melted butter, then vanilla extract, followed by the powdered sugar. Whip until evenly dispersed.
4. Pour the cream soda mixture into a clear mug or glass. Top with the cream topping. Serve and enjoy!
