How to Manually Update Firmware on PS Vita and PSTV
379If you're looking to manually update your Vita's or PSTV's firmware, whether it be to a higher firmware or a current firmware reinstallation, this guide has you covered! This video covers both the PlayStation Vita as well as the PlayStation TV as both consoles have extremely different methods of manually updating. Depending on which console you are trying to update, check out the timestamps and follow along.
Updating a Vita using this method requires access to a Windows or Mac along with the software Qcma. This will require you to configure Qcma for your specific firmware update and then update your Vita via USB. Updating a PSTV is thankfully easier, only requiring a USB drive to be organized a specific way and formatted to FAT32.
