How to Monetize YouTube Gaming Videos Legally 2013 - Original Video
313YouTube Updated Their Gaming Policy in 2015 and now makes it a bit easier for gamers to publish their work on YouTube - https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/138161?hl=en
That said, gamers do still run into problems with YouTube's content ID system where music and in-game footage will often be claimed either by the proper copyright owners or shady companies simply trying to make money from other people's hard work.
If you run into an issue with YouTube's content id system and you believe your videos adhere to the fair use exception to copyright law or you believe a shady company or individual is trying to take your rightfully earned money, use the "Help" button at the bottom of your dashboard to get in touch with YouTube support or your partner manager.
I've had videos claimed or taken down that I was able to get re-instated with their help.
