How to perform the MissingNo Glitch in Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow

While this glitch is simple to perform, it is easy to stuff up. DO NOT catch MissingNo for any reason unless you want your game/save to become corrupted.
Wondering why the game looks so good? I took ROMs of Red and Blue and applied a Gen 2 color patch to both games, now they look like Gold and Silver which is way easier on the eyes.
I am using My Oldboy! Emulator on android to play Red and Blue, my preferred way of playing since it allows me to speed up the game, as well as trade between versions.
