Core of the Apparatus is a new event involving a certain Fontaine toymaker NPC named Bertrand who is now stationed in Ritou, Inazuma. Talking to Katheryne first then Bertrand will trigger the world quest "A-Toymaking We Shall Go" and completing it will unlock this new event which is split into two types - Quest Creations and Freestyle Creations. Completing these challenges will reward you with redemption vouchers that you can exchange for robotic furnishings.
Quest Creations mode is split into three phases. First is Source Material Collection where you need to gather specific materials found in the open field area on the map. Bertrand will give you the Material Collector device to guide you on what materials to collect and this phase is completed once the percentage progress reaches 100%. The second phase is called Elemental Charge where you need to charge up the Material Collector device with a specific element. To do this, just be continuously affected by an element in a designated area until the device fully charges. The third phase is Core Activation where you need to defeat certain monsters to get the Motive Force which is another required material to activate the core.
For the Freestyle Creations mode, the same three steps are necessary however they are improved in some way with the Material Collector now becoming more specific. Return to Bertrand after completing all steps to create your own robotic furnishings. There are special versions of robotic furnishings that can be possibly created but it needs luck and dedication. You can check all the robotic furnishing models in the Product Archive event tab.

Complete the "Ritou Escape Plan" part of the Archon Quest: "Chapter II: Act I - The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia"
Complete the World Quest "Chisato's Letter"
