How To Play Music On VRChat (Read Description)
1281. First thing you want to do is open up vrchat
as your all logged in go to your taskbar and right click on the sound icon and you will see something that says open sound settings.
2.after you open that scroll down till you see something that says "App volume and device preferences".
3. after clicking on that a list of sound sources should pop up. before messing with those go ahead and open a sound application that you will be playing your music from like for example spotify, google chrome to play songs on youtube etc.
4. once you have your song open play it for a split second. this will allow the application to pop up in the "app volume and device preferences", list.
5. click on the top drop down menu of your chosen application and you should see a list of audio sources. whatever you do do not use a sound source that you are currently using for example your headphones. this will make it to where people will hear your game audio through your microphone. so choose a audio source that you are not using. i decided to choose my elgato capture sound device since im currently not using it for anything.
6. after doing that your going to want to go into your vrchat settings and choose the audio input that you are using for playing music from. its going to be the sound source you chose for the application that you are using. then after that you are ready to go. play any song from spotify and vrchat should register the sound playing.
these steps work for any sound application. this can be playing music from youtube on the google chrome browser or anything else that is playing sounds.
