The other day I was asked a question 'Can you play Roblox in VR WITHOUT paying for VIRTUAL DESKTOP? And less than a week later the answer is YES, YES YOU CAN! So that's what I'm gonna show you today. I'm gonna show you how to play ROBLOX VR with NO WIRES WITHOUT the need to buy virtual desktop so you can save money while still being able to enjoy games like Roblox VR HANDS and VR ISLAND. --------Quick disclaimer--------
I would always recommend using VD for this as its a much more solid program however if you don't want to pay for it this is the tutorial for you. bear in mind that the results will be smoother if you have a 5GHZ router and a fast internal network speed so if it runs badly. Thats probably why.
Anyway, if you are happy continuing lets go! So lads this method takes advantage of free, open source software known as ALVR. It does require a USB 2.0 cable for the initial set up but you can use the charging cable that came in the box and and you'll only need to set it up once. Now, ALVR Is very similar to Virtual desktop in that it allows you stream your VR games wirelessly to your oculus quest using steam VR. So you'll still need a VR ready PC or laptop.
So before we get into this method you must first have the following:
THE OCULUS VR APP INSTALLED - https://www.oculus.com/setup/
STEAM installed along with steam VR - https://store.steampowered.com/about/
and the ROBLOX player - https://en.help.roblox.com/hc/en-us/articles/204473560-How-to-Install-and-Play-Roblox-Using-Browser
