This video will show you a step by step tutorial about how you can mod your witcher 3 game and play it in first person mode,
this first person mod is stable, and this is why you should try it in VR if you have the options for it, you might know for yourself already how to play the game with VR perspective but i've explained a few steps & tips for VR users who still want to find out.

Fast Text tutorial:

FIRST PERSON MODE
1. Create new folder in main installation folder of witcher 3 and name it 'mods'
2. Open the first person download page, click manual download and then open the page for the additional mod (shown on the page) 'Community Patch - base' and download this file.
3. Extract the rar file in the main installation folder of the game. When windows asks to overwrite any files, click YES.
4. Go back to the page which pointed to the additional files and download 'Community Patch - shared imports.
5. Extract the rar file in the main installation folder of the game and when windows asks to overwrite any files you say YES.
6. Go on to the download page for the actual First Person mod.
7. You will notice that you need two mods, first download the 'Main file' and extract the rar file in the main installation folder of the game, when windows asks you to overwrite anything just say YES.
8. Next, download the second file for the first person mod, go back to the download page for the first person mod and download the 'patch'.
9. Go to the folder where the startup exe for the game is located, called witcher3.exe ( you can find it here: steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\bin\x64 )
10. Extract the rar file in the folder where the startup exe for the game is located.
11. Double click on Patch to run it, windows will show a warning, just ignore that and you'll get a notification that the patching has been completed.

Now you can run the game in first person mode, there is just one more step you need to do IN CASE you already have other mods installed AND IN CASE you are planning to add more mods, you'll have to do this as well.

12. Go to the download page for 'Script Merger' and download script merger.
13. Extract the rar file in a seperated folder where you wish to and run script merger and solve all conflicts.

Script merger will recreate merged script files in order to have your game running in case you experience any issues due mod installs.

VR

1. Watch my settings in the video, try to start with these settings first.
2. I used the standard profile of vorpx for the witcher 3, there are many, you can try others if you'd want too.
3. Start SteamVR - then start VorpX - Then start The Witcher 3.
4. open VorpX options menu with the delete button on your keyboard.
5. Change immersive mode to fullVR.
6. Go to in game options & Locate the first person mod options.
7. Adjust your FOV to what suits best for you, or any other first person mod options (example, FPS in cutscenes, head location...)
8. Go back to the game and open the options menu of VorpX again and locate the hud settings and adjust the huds to what suits best for you to make them visible in your vr view.

If you want to know which resolutions you should try, watch the resolution part in the video. You can always use other resolution sizes of course but then you might have to adjust the FOV settings again as well.
