'ONLY FOR' Gamepad users, see in the description of the video between step 5 & 6 for a required extra step
0:00 - Introduction
01:24 - Line for txtfile DBGConsoleOn=true
03:01 - Don't forget to choose your vr headset type in general settings also
04:31 - FOV & in game VorpX settings
05:39 - Change radar position
07:51 - Combat footage
It's important to read all the information on the page of the first person mod in order to be aware of the way it works and the functions it have.
Also don't forget that you still have in game graphics options in order to add more comfort or sharper graphics.
1 you can try to use the mod without this step but i had to do this in order to make it work for me. Copy installation folder to a backup folder, delete 'all' dlc folders in the backup folder(dlc folders)
2 enable console via y editing general.ini located in your The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\base folder, find [General] section and add following line in this section DBGConsoleOn=true.
You'll have to enable this in order to activate the first person mode or more functions later.
3 create a new folder with the name mods in the main directory of the installation folder of the witcher 3
4 Go to the description of the video and download the first person mod and extract the folder in installation folder, allow windows to overwrite excisting folders.
5 Download hud position and scale mod and extract the modHudPositioningandScale folder in your mods folder, now copy the bin folder and paste it in your installation folder, allow overwriting. You'll need this in order to adjust the position of the radar so you won't get lost in vr.
Extra step for gamepad users: If you are playing with a controller you have to do this first: Go to your input.settings located in your documents/The Witcher 3 folder.
And remove every single copy of the following line:
IK_Pad_B_CIRCLE=(Action=DebugInput)
I haven't tried it with a gamepad but be carefull when turning around in game.
6 Go to the webpage of the first person mod on nexus, take your phone and make a picture of the commands so you have a view over the commands with their effects when you need them. Also take a moment to look at the key binds.
7 Start VorpX and go to the cloud profiles and import one of the witcher 3 profiles, you can also use the profile wich i uploaded. and then apply and close and then start steamvr.
8 Start the game via the backup folder where you should have installed all the mods, let vorpx attach, find a savegame that will load your game (deleting dlc folders will not load all saves) and when you are in game press the tilde key on your keyboard to open the console in game and use the command 'fphook' and press enter to enable the mod, then close the console by pressing the tidle key again. Now press P and the camera will switch in first person. You can now put on the headset to have an early glimps.
9 Look back on your monitor and open the console again and use the command fpallowcombat(1) This will disable the camera from changing back to third person when an enemy spotted you.
10 enter the next command in the console fpzcorrect(1) This will reduce the headbobbing effect wich you'll have in vr.
11 Now use the command fpsfov(value) to adjust the field of view.
12 Press Del to open the in vr view visible vorpx menu and find the best settings for you.
Extra step: Don't forget to adjust your in game graphics settings of the witcher for extra comfort or extra quality.
