Planning to get your hands on the Nintendo Switch 2 as soon as pre-orders go live? 🎉 Before you click that button, make sure your Nintendo Account meets the official eligibility requirements set by Nintendo. That way only actual Switch players get a console instead of all the scalpers.

In this quick tutorial, I’ll walk you through everything you need to do to qualify to pre-order or buy a Switch 2 directly from Nintendo, including account age, activity requirements, and settings you need to check.

✅ Official Nintendo Account Requirements for Switch 2 Pre-Orders:
1) Active Nintendo Account
Must be at least 12 months old
Must be currently active at the time of sign-up and/or purchase

2) Data Sharing with Nintendo ENABLED
This is enabled by default, but double-check your account settings
Your account must show 50+ hours of play time

3) Promotional Emails ENABLED
Also enabled by default, but required to be opted in. Otherwise they cant send you an email to let you know its your turn to buy a console.

They come enabled by default, but sometimes for privacy or to cut down on spam, people disable them. Just head over to your account settings for your nintendo account and make sure they are enabled under Privacy. Super fast and easy.
