This is a quick demonstration on how to use WSName by David Clarke. The syntax I demonstrate will generate a random 13 character username.
WSName /N:$IP - Sets the computer name to the IP address of the ethernet interface.
WSName /N:$SerialNum - Uses the computers serial number as the computer name.
WSName /N:$AssetTag - Uses the asset tag as the computer name.
You could even make a batch script to change the computer name to the user who is logging into the machine. You would use the following syntax:
WSName /N:$USERID . .
