How To Reset Forgotten Metamask Account Password? Metamask Account Recovery 2022
219In today's video, I'm going to show you how to reset your metamask wallet's password.
Metamask is a software wallet for Ethereum, which enables you to store and transmit ethers without running an Ethereum node. It can be used as a browser extension or desktop application. The metamask has the password recovery feature inbuilt with it so that you can reset your password anytime anywhere.
Whether you've forgotten your metamask account's pathway or you simply want to change your password for security reasons, then here's how to do it in case you'd like to reset to a new one:
1. First make sure that you've backed up your secret recovery phrases. Once you have a backup you can easily reset your password (if you don't you'll need to create a new wallet and all of the data in the current wallet will be lost)
2. Simply, tap on Reset wallet at the bottom after you've imported your secret recovery phrases Click on the I understand, continue button if you're sure to erase your wallet. (You can recover the wallet with your secret recovery phrases only, if you don't have it then do not proceed further since you'll be losing access to your wallet once you delete it)
3. Now, type delete in the text box and tap on Delete my wallet button.
4. Tap on Import using secret recovery phrase. Type in your secret recovery phrases in the first text box you can also use a QR code reader and scan your secret recovery phrases.
5. Choose a new password for your account, type in the password that is easier for you to remember and difficult for others to guess.
6. Confirm the password by retyping it again. Tap on IMPORT at the bottom.
7. Finally, you'll see that you've successfully protected your wallet and you've changed your password. Now, simply tap on the Done button.
That's how you can easily change your password or reset your pathway to a new one if you've forgotten during the login process. I hope this tutorial helps you to reset the password of your metamask's account.
