Okay so at the moment when we play our game, our character is in his idle animation.
And when we add input because our character moves and he goes into his running animation. This is due to the fact that our state machine is now aware of our character's movement speed. It toggles between the idle and running states depending on the movement of the character.

However, we wanted to make it so the character will blend between the different running animations we have depending on our characters' movement direction.
So we want to start setting up the aiming for our character and in this section, we're going to be setting up both mouse aiming and thumb stick aiming for gamepads but they just start with the thumb stick aiming.
I've got my gamepad plugged in and I can hit play and move my character around with the left thumb stick because we bound the left thumb stick to our input axis mapping for moving forwards and moving right.
But when we turn the right stick we're going to make the character face the direction that we're turning our thumbs stick in so, to begin with, we're going to create some access mappings for our thumb stick aiming so let's come up to edit and then project settings and let's come to the input section so we can add in two new Axis Mappings.
