How to Share Play on PS4 with a Friend (Easy Tutorial)
2Ensure Both Players Have PlayStation Plus: Verify that both you and your friend have an active PlayStation Plus subscription. Share Play requires both parties to be subscribed to PlayStation Plus.
Connect with Your Friend: Make sure you and your friend are friends on the PlayStation Network. If you aren't already, send a friend request to each other using your PlayStation Network usernames.
Start the Share Play Session:
a. Launch the game you want to play or the one you want to share with your friend.
b. Press the PlayStation button on your controller to access the Quick Menu while in the game.
c. From the Quick Menu, scroll to the right and select "Party."
d. Create a party by selecting "Create Party." You can also join your friend's existing party if they've already created one.
e. Invite your friend to the party by selecting their username and sending an invitation.
Initiate Share Play:
a. Once your friend has joined the party, return to the Quick Menu.
b. From the Quick Menu, scroll to the right and select "Share Play."
c. Choose "Start Share Play" to share your game screen with your friend.
d. You can choose between two Share Play options:
Give Controller to Visitor: Allows your friend to take control of your game remotely. They can help you through a difficult level or experience the game themselves.
Play a Game Together: Allows your friend to play a local multiplayer game with you over the internet as if they were sitting next to you.
Hand Over Control: If you selected "Give Controller to Visitor," your friend will now be able to take control of your game. If you picked "Play a Game Together," you'll both be able to play the game cooperatively or competitively, depending on the game's features.
End the Share Play Session: You can end the Share Play session at any time by pressing the "Share" button on your controller, selecting "Stop Share Play," and confirming the action.
