How To Side load apps Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick

first off get the ip of your fire tv by going to settings, about , network on your amazon fire tv.


I am in no way affiliated with any companies in this video and do not own the rights to any registered trademarksthe fire tv and pc need to be on the same network.

1.download android sdk

2.open the android sdk file and navigate to sdk folder then open platform tools file.

3. click on adb.exe to start up the adb sever.

4.hold shift and right click inside of the platform tools folder and then click open command window here

5.on the command line type in, adb connect "the ip of your fire tv"
then hit enter.

6.now find the file location of the apk you wish to install.

7.in the command window type in , adb install followed by the full path to the apk you want to install then hit enter.

8.wait a few seconds for the app to install on your amazon fire tv.

Turn on ADB Debugging
You must enable ADB on Amazon Fire TV before you can connect to the device.
1. From the main (Launcher) screen of Amazon Fire TV, select Settings.
2. Select System - Developer Options.
3. Select ADB Debugging.

Get the IP Address
You need the IP address of Amazon Fire TV on your network to connect ADB to it.
1. From the main screen of Amazon Fire TV, select Settings.
2. Select System - About - Network. Make note of the IP address listed on this screen.

Connect ADB
To connect your development computer to the Amazon Fire TV device, use the following steps:
1. Open a command prompt or terminal window.
2. Change directory to your Android SDK platform-tools directory.
3. Run the following commands, where "ipaddress" is the IP address of the Fire TV device noted in the previous section. adb kill-server
4. adb start-server
5. adb connect "ipaddress"
6. Note: On Mac OS X and Linux you may need to prepend ./ to these commands, like this: ./adb kill-server
7. ./adb start-server
8. ./adb connect "ipaddress"
9. If the connection was sucessful, ADB responds with the message: connected to "ipaddress":5555
10. Verify that the Amazon Fire TV device appears in the list of devices: adb devices
11. ADB reponds responds with the message: List of devices attached
12. "ipaddress":5555 device


13. now we can use a command to install/sideload apps to the fir tv

put the apk's you would like to install in a new folder on your desktop and name the folder apps.

right click the folder go to properties and copy the full path of the folder.

14. now go back to adb command window and type

adb install "full path to folder"

and click enter.

wait for it to install and that's it you just used adb over wifi to install an app to you're amazon fire tv.
