Sorting in Google Sheets is a very simple process, allowing you to organize your data either alphabetically or numerically, in ascending or descending order. To do this, first select the column or row you want to sort. Instead of selecting just one specific cell, click the entire column or row by clicking the letter at the top of the column or the number at the beginning of the row. Once selected, right-click on the highlighted area, and you'll see the option to "Sort sheet A to Z" or "Sort sheet Z to A," depending on whether you want ascending or descending order.

If you want more control over how your data is sorted, you can use the "Data" menu at the top of Google Sheets. From there, you can choose "Sort range" and define the specific columns or rows you'd like to sort. This also gives you the ability to sort multiple columns based on different criteria.

For more advanced sorting, Google Sheets offers features like conditional formatting, which allows you to visually organize data by color or other conditions before sorting.
