How to Stop PS5 turning on or off with LG TV (HDMI CEC)
To stop your PS5 from turning on or off with your LG TV, you need to adjust settings on both the PS5 and the TV to disable the HDMI-CEC (Simplink) feature. Here's how:
1. Disable HDMI-CEC on Your LG TV
Press the Settings button on your LG remote (gear icon).
Navigate to All Settings (or Advanced Settings).
Go to General - Devices - HDMI Settings (or Simplink (HDMI-CEC)).
Toggle Simplink (HDMI-CEC) to OFF.
This prevents the LG TV from sending power commands to the PS5.
2. Turn Off HDMI Device Link on PS5
Turn on your PS5 and go to the Settings menu (gear icon in the top-right corner).
Navigate to System - HDMI.
Toggle Enable HDMI Device Link to OFF.
This stops the PS5 from turning on or off in response to HDMI-CEC signals.
3. Optional: Use Auto Power Sync Settings on LG TV
If you still want to use other Simplink (HDMI-CEC) features but prevent the power sync:
Go to your LG TV's All Settings - General - Devices - HDMI Settings.
Turn Auto Power Sync to OFF.
This keeps HDMI-CEC active for other features like input switching but stops the PS5 from powering on or off with the TV.
4. Verify the Changes
Turn off your LG TV and ensure the PS5 does not turn off with it.
Turn off your PS5 and check if the TV stays powered on.
