How to STOP random reboots and DDR4 DDR5 memory error BSOD on your PC!
If you are struggling with random restarts, BSOD or general system stability, this video might save you money and time by looking at a common problem that can effect any PC new or old.
XMP DOCP and EXPO for DDR4 and DDR5 are designed to take the guesswork out of RAM timings and will often work perfectly. But if your motherboard or memory controller aren't totally in sync, it can create weird system problems, Mine was even crashing in the BIOS!
AM5 is still a new platform and has some maturing to do. For me this has been a real pain and i have had a stable system for weeks on end, then all of a sudden really weird crashes, lockups and BSOD. All happening with various parts and spending time and money on replacements.
Seems that I have been aiming at a moving target!
It seems that although XMP or EXPO were enabled and all looked good, after every reboot the system retrained the RAM and it seemed that the timings were changing every now and then, putting the RAM out of spec.
So to fix this you can manually enter the RAM timings that are printed on the box or the RAM itself, and this for me has worked really well and the system is now solid and reliable.
