Took a while for me to figure out everything, so don't give up on the league yet! :)
1. You need three items with same bases in order to synthesize (keep in mind there are different "subclasses" in some categories like Maces and Swords: https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Mace and you cannot combine one-handed maces with scepters and such)
2) You can only synthesize rare items (and a few league specific uniques)
3) Resulted base = 3 bases / 1. 2 of the same = same resulted base (most likely).
4) Resulted item level = highest of all fractured bases
5) Resulted Quality = combined fractured quality / 3
6) Resulted numbers of synthesized implicits = combined numbers of fractured mods / 3
7) Check if your fractured item actually have 3 separate explicits and not 1+2 hybrid ones. (hover and hold ALT)
8) All "normal" explicit mods (not fractured) also contribute to amount of resulting synthesized mods RNG. So if you seriously want to synthesize something important make sure
you've "cleaned" your fractured items with scours/regals/annuls.

10) To target specific synthesized mod: https://poedb.tw/ItemSynthesisMods
Value = combined "amount" of specific fractured mods required for higher chance to hit the necessary synthesized mod.
