How To Tame And Breed Pacu In ONI: Spaced Out! Sandbox Showcase #39
32Welcome to Sandbox Showcase! In this series, I talk about various problems in Oxygen Not Included and how I've solved them with my own designs in previous streamed and non-streamed runs, by building them in Sandbox mode.
In this video, I talk about how to get the humble Pacu fish to multiply fruitfully in your base for an easy source of food and Lime for Steel production. As fish, Pacu have some unique mechanics in how they move and are tamed, using the Fish Feeder instead of the Grooming Station. While there is a little bit of micromanagement required to get them Tame, once they are, they reproduce very quickly and have a relatively low-mass diet that makes them well suited to mass production and upscaling. We can set up many small tanks with Water Forts and automation such that almost no duplicant labour is required at all and we can fit as many fish per tile as reasonably possible. This video focuses on how the standard Pacu variant can be made to work for you in the base game, but future videos will talk about the Tropical and Gulp Fish variants as well as Prehistoric Planet Pack content updates!
