Step 1. Navigate to your Windows home screen and then press both the "Windows" and "I" buttons at the same time. Your Windows settings screen opens.

Step 2. Click "Privacy and Security" in the menu on the left side of this screen. Associated options are shown on the right side of the screen.

Step 3. Navigate to the Windows Permissions section, and then click "General."

Step 4. Click to toggle off "Let apps show me personalized ads by using my advertising ID." Going forward you'll still see the same volume of ads, but you'll no longer see personalized ads on your Windows computer.
