How to Turn off Notification Dots on Android Apps

If you’re using Android Oreo, you might find the notification dots feature handy, but sometimes it can be distracting. I’ll walk you through two simple methods to disable notification dots on your Android handset.
The first method is from your homescreen—just press and hold on a blank space, go into Home Settings, and select the Notification dots option. From there, you can easily turn off the toggle to stop seeing those little dots above your app icons.
The second method involves the settings menu. By pulling down the notification shade and tapping on the gear icon, you can go to Apps & notifications, select Notifications, and finally disable the allow notification dots setting.
