To Turn off your controller press the PS button and then go to accessories and select your controller and there will be an option to turn off. Then you can set the timer for auto turn off by going to settings, then go to system and set timer for controller off. Then you can turn off the controller without the PS5 by holding down the PS button for like 10 seconds and it will turn off.
