Steps to Turn Off TalkBack’s Reading Control for Characters:
Step 1: Ensure TalkBack is Enabled:
Go to Settings → Accessibility → TalkBack.
Toggle Use TalkBack ON if it isn’t already.
Use TalkBack gestures to navigate (tap once to select, double-tap to activate).
Step 2: Open TalkBack Settings:
Go to Settings → Accessibility → TalkBack → Settings.
Double-tap to open the menu.
Step 3: Disable Reading Control for Characters:
Scroll to Reading Control or Reading Control for Characters.
Toggle the switch OFF to stop TalkBack from reading characters aloud.
Optional – Turn Off TalkBack Completely:
Press and hold both volume keys for 3 seconds to quickly disable TalkBack.
Or go to Settings → Accessibility → TalkBack and toggle it OFF.
Tips:
Turning off this setting may make typing feedback less detailed.
You can re-enable it anytime through the same settings.
