How to Update HFW & PS3HEN for Firmware 4.90!
4,719With new firmware updates comes a new build of PS3HEN as well as a new Hybrid Firmware (HFW) update! PS3HEN can easily be updated if your console is connected to the internet, but a new HFW update must be manually installed from a USB drive. This tutorial will show you how to update your PS3HEN console to a higher HFW update and reinstall the latest version of PS3HEN.
Although this tutorial was recorded with 4.86 all of the software needed has been updated to 4.90 meaning the steps will be the exact same. The only difference being a 4.90 HFW will need to be utilized as opposed to 4.86 HFW shown in this video. It is assumed you have already installed PS3HEN on your console and have the basic understanding of how to use it prior to watching this tutorial.
As a final warning directly from the PS3Xploit team themselves: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ENABLE FSM (Factory Service Mode) OR INSTALL CCAPI ON A PS3 WITH PS3HEN!
