How to Update Intel and AMD Processor Microcode under Windows
48A way to update your microcode from Windows should you be stuck waiting for an updated BIOS from the manufacturer and Windows only has old patches. Note that this is a software solution and does not modify the BIOS in anyway.

Requirements:
You really need all tools even if you only have Intel / AMD CPU.
VMware CPU Microcode Update Driver:

Intel Microcodes (ensure you download latest one):
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26798/Linux-Processor-Microcode-Data-File
AMD Microcodes (ensure you download latest one):
http://cdn-fastly.deb.debian.org/debian/pool/non-free/a/amd64-microcode/
You need to execute the install.bat as admin to copy the necessary files.
A reboot is required, because the driver get's only one read out during the boot.
How can I figure out which microcode version do I have e.g. under Windows?
