On this episode I explain how a compressor works and what you can do with it. Software used is adobe audition but its basically the same everywhere. Standard settings:

Threshold: a bit above your quietest parts
Ratio: 1:5 to 1:15
Attack: 1 - 10 ms
Release: 300 - 500 ms
