Are you unfamiliar with Google Meet and unsure about how to use it? Learn the fundamentals of utilizing Google Meet for voice and video chats by watching this video!

You can get the Google Meet app for Android or iPhone for free from the app store if you don't already have it.

ANDROID APP: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.tachyon
IPHONE APP: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/google-meet/id1096918571

To begin a new call on the Google Meet app, tap New in the bottom right corner. Then tap Create Link. From here you can tap the copy icon to copy the link, or tap Share to quickly share the call link to a friend through a text message, email, or in a message on a social media app. Then you can tap Join Meeting to enter the call yourself.

You also have the option to set up a call on a particular day and time! In the Google Meet app, hit New in the lower right corner, followed by Schedule. If you would want to talk about a particular subject, you may then enter a title for your call. Select the time you want the call to start and conclude, as well as the day you want to have it. Tap Add People to send out friend invitations. Next, you can invite a specific person from the contact list on your device. Press Save after you're finished.

You can open a scheduled call by tapping on it in your list of meetings. A preview of your video feed will appear. Before starting the call, you can switch off your microphone and camera. You can switch on and off your camera by tapping the camera icon, and you can turn on and off your microphone by tapping the microphone icon. To access camera effects, such as backdrops, filters, and color styles, tap the glitter icon. To join your call when you're ready, tap Join at the bottom.

When you’re in a Google Meet call, there are a few controls you can use. Tap the meeting name at the top to access information about your meeting, see who is invited, and invite additional people if needed. In the top right corner, you can tap the speaker icon to select your desired sound output. Tap the circle of arrows to switch between your device’s front and back cameras. At the bottom, you can tap the camera icon to turn your camera on or off, and the microphone icon to mute or unmute your microphone. Tap the hand icon to raise your hand and let others know you have something to add or a question to ask.

You can tap the three dots in the bottom right corner to access additional options including emoji reactions, a chat feed for the call, closed captions and more. If you’d like to share your screen, you can also find the screen sharing option here. In the Activities section you can run a poll or enable Q&A to allow call attendees to share questions. If you’re going to be on a call while driving or doing something else you need to focus on, use the On the Go option to simplify the options available to you. You can turn off On the Go by tapping the X button at the top. When you’re ready to end your call, tap the red hang up icon in the bottom left corner.
