Levers can be used remotely, from a distance, which I found out very recently. There is no more need to run up to levers to use them!

Do keep in mind that Baldur's Gate 3 is still in early access and so the features shown in the video are subject to change and the game is incomplete, so expect more to be added to the game in the future. At time of recording the game was still in Early Access Patch 7, and by the time of the full release of Baldur's Gate 3 things may have changed.
