How to use Overload Empowered Herb Spell | Overloading the Underground | Khaz Algar Herbalism
3The first time you harvest a Modified herb, you'll learn Overload Empowered Herb, and you'll be able to Overload an elemental node (Altered, Crystallized, Irradiated, or Sporefused) to get a specific effect and collect more resources
To find the overload spell, check your SPELLBOOK under GENERAL. Look for the icon with ONE shard, called Overload EMPOWERED Herb. Drag it to your action bars for easier access.

Irradiated
Node Type: Elemental
Secondary Gather: Leyline Residue
Overloading an irradiated herb allows siphoning arcane magic, temporarily transforming Overload Empowered Herb into Arcane Duplication. This ability creates a gatherable herb copy.
Herbalists specializing in Irradiated herbs (Overloading the Underground tree) reduce knockback and can use Arcane Duplication to create additional herbs.
Irradiated herbs are glowing plants with a shining ring near the ground. When picked, they propel the player upward and backward, similar to Windswept herbs in Dragonflight. This can cause minor damage on level ground, except for Rogues with Safe Fall. To avoid damage:Use nearby walls or trees to stop your flight
- Complete the main Botany tree ring to herb while mounted
- Use Slow Fall or Goblin Glider Kits for high locations or druid flight form

Crystallized
Node Type: Elemental
Secondary Gather: Crystalline Powder
Overloading a crystallized deposit will momentarily attune you to the world, creating a portal to send you to another nearby deposit. Specialized miners will open a portal back after gathering at their destination
Crystallized herbs:
• Encased in golden crystalline light
• Found above and underground
• Common herb modifier
• Shimmering appearance with golden hue
• Grants Crystalline Empowerment when harvested:
Increases secondary stats by 3%
Cures Horrific Poison debuff from Altered herbs or Weeping mines

Secondary Gather: Writhing Sample
Overloading altered herbs triggers a mutation, creating a dangerous Twisted Lasher - an overgrown plant mob. This creature yields Writhing Samples.
Khaz Algar's altered herbs, tainted by Old Gods' Black Blood, show red-orange discoloration. Picking them causes Horrific Poison, hindering movement and combat for 1 minute. Harvesting Crystalline herbs or ore nodes counters this effect, granting poison immunity
These rare herbs are primarily found in deep, treacherous areas of high-level zones like Hallowfall and Azh-Kahet, making them challenging to obtain.

Sporefused
Node Type: Elemental
Secondary Gather: Viridescent Spores
Overloading sporefused herbs triggers a magical reaction, spawning multiple herbs nearby. Gathering the correct herb yields real reagents, while choosing incorrectly disorients and harms the herbalist.
The correct herb typically matches the original sporefused herb type. For instance, with Sporefused Mycobloom, other Mycoblooms are correct. Selecting wrong herbs causes disorientation and makes all spawned herbs vanish.
Sporefused nodes, rare but found in life-rich areas, yield Sporefused Visions when picked. These magical spores alter vision but become truly useful only after maxing out the Sporefused tree in Overloading the Underground, enabling detection of Camouflaged herbs.

Overloading the Underground reduces the cooldown for all Elemental herbs, and completing this ring gives you a second charge of Overload Empowered Herb.
Overload Empowered Herb has a 12-hour cooldown, reducible by investing in this tree.
Investing in each Elemental herb type boosts Finesse, Perception, and Deftness when harvesting, and reduces the Overload Empowered Herb cooldown. Opening the tree grants one advantage, with a second at 40 points invested. Prioritize based on your needs.
